Blog2019 ≫ Huge exercise Friday, with a mini pub crawl

Friday night started a lot later than usual. No Inn Doors, so I didn't get out of work early. Instead came home and walked into Folkestone. It always takes longer than I think, but was a nice evening anyway. Skabour festival was going on, I'm sure this was on the last time I walked in to Folkestone for a drink on my own too, strange coincidence. Or maybe there is something else on this weekend that I have forgotten about again, someone's birthday probably. I checked out Home on Tontine Street for the first time, and it's very nice. Nice decor, good range of beers, though all from the one brewery. Also expensive seeing as it's the brewery tap, they should sell their own beers at a discount, but it's over five quid a pint. Free wifi, comfortable seating, USB charging points, and they were playing Fleetwood Mac, I felt quite at home. Ha, Home, see.

Next stop Kipps, I had a delicious balti buddha bowl there, then walked home, but via The Potting Shed. Not the one in Hythe but the one that is a secret bar. Not for a drink, but to get the details for Clare. You have to phone them up and get a password or something, crazy business. Really it's just because it's so small and there's no bar and you have to book, they can't have walk-ins.

Walked back through Sandgate and saw a friend through the window of the Providence, so stopped there for one. All this walking on top of the lunchtime cross country got me to a near record of more than 30,000 steps for the day. Then home to watch Bake Off - extra slice.

Parkrun now, though I'm not the first one out of the house. Thing one has gone off to do the Shepway test, so best of luck to him. Then I'm picking thing two up, we're going swimming, then all meeting back up for lunch. Then I'm off to that beer festival at Unit Number One.
