I finally got the new IKEA smart bulbs and the IKEA Tradfri gateway / hub, so I can remotely control the bulbs that go in my new Symfonisk speakers. It turns out the hub doesn't speak directly to the bulbs, it speaks to the remote control which then speaks to the bulbs. And I don't have the remote control yet and I don't really want it! What a palaver.
If I have to go back to IKEA to get the remote control I'm definitely going to get more speakers (pleased with the sound side of this, if not the light) and then I'm going to get in trouble...
Seems some people have linked the bulbs directly so trying this1.
