Blog2019 ≫ Lovely lunchtime walk

It's festival weather out there again. So sunny and sort of warm, but really windy. I needed a jacket out there really because of the wind but still warm enough for shorts. Lovely walk along Princes Parade, pretty strong winds coming in from the South West and big waves crashing this way too. High tide and a lovely green sea. Lots of fishermen out there today on the beach, must be particularly good conditions for them.

This British Iron Man story is awesome. Similar sort of tale to before but always good to see. How long before we can just buy these off the shelf? Maybe I will hold off on that e-bike.

I was expecting to receive another share payout this month. Well, I wasn't expecting to receive another share payout, I'd forgotten about it, until I got an email saying "we were going to do a share payout on the 6th of this month, but now we're not" just a temporary holdup though I'm sure. That money will go directly into next year's holiday fund so no urgency.

Time to start thinking about next year's holiday by train surely... I'm wondering for the holiday if we do an actual stopover in France for the first leg of our holiday. Or even a stopover in London and get an early Eurostar? Then could be one night in Paris, or even direct to Milan. The kids have done France, best to get as far as we can in one day surely. Can be there from Paris by train in seven hours for less than £50 each. I'm sure this holiday is a great idea and will be exciting and fun, and not a nightmare. Imagine of the whole trip was standing and sweating like our two hour ride to Bristol was?

Thinking of holidays and festivals again I took another look at my holiday reminder app1 and think I need to tweak it. There's some heavily cached code there that causes an error, and right now with only one forthcoming trip for me I get an error.

UPDATE: if we did an overnight train from Paris to Milan it's ten hours but only £27, and saves on a hotel!
