Blog2019 ≫ Active weekend

Nice weekend so far. Out of work early on Friday, walk to the Inn Doors, but weather a bit drizzly at this point. Met friends there including Ben who is now back at work having given up on Docker, so because he was there I stayed longer than I might otherwise have done. Somehow left their without my coat, gah, hope it is not lost!

Saturday morning good Parkrun at 22'32 also in the drizzle to start with. I got quite wet cycling there, and everyone was huddled under shelter waiting for the run to start, but it started clearing up at this point. Rode home and we went to Canterbury for the day. Got a few token gifts for Clare's birthday (she really wants some shopping money from me) and books for the boys and lunch in Wagamama. We were going to sit in a cafe and get a dessert but decided to find a pub instead, so went to one of our old favourites The Dolphin. Don't think we've been there since the children were born. Sat in the garden and it was delightful.

I'm sure it was the overheating caused by the sudden change in weather (rather than the Wagas) but thing two was sick in the car on the way home. He'd been feeling a bit peaky since we got in the car on the way out, but once he'd ruined a conveniently placed bag-for-life he was fine again.

I got Clare to drop me off at the Inn Doors again on the way back to pick up my jacket. A couple of friends in though so I had two more pints and then a text from Clare "why are you still in the pub? I'm going out". A bit of a jog home and we were just about on schedule again.

She's working today and the boys and I are cycling to Hythe at lunchtime for the Food Fair. I think I will by chilli sauce and cider and the boys want empanadas. I do need some stuff to make a curry in the week. Clare has a new plan with the boys to make "food in the news", taking inspiration from The Week Junior magazine. This week they're doing a goat curry inspired by stories of terrible flooding in Nepal. Looks like they're doing this in the slow cooker. I will find a similarly Nepalese vegan recipe.

I have received and packed away the shopping and was planning to do some ironing before we go but have spent a bit too long updating this blog.
