Blog2019 ≫ Tap tap tap... also sports

Awoken in the middle of the night by a tapping and scratching sound, always nice. First I thought it would just stop and tried to go back to sleep, without even looking at the time. Once I've seen the time in the night that stops me getting back to sleep. The noise continued, and assuming it was a mouse in the trap thought I'd better deal with it. Was actually only half midnight. I had to get dressed, then went down to the new humane mouse trap, like this one1 (as the old one got footballed recently). Indeed it was a mouse, frozen with fear when I turned the light on. I had read that you should empty these five hundred metres from your house, that's why I'd got dressed. I took him down to the bottom of hospital hill, near the bins for the flats. I think he or she would be happy there. Please don't come back little mouse.

The trap is primed again, as there is never a single mouse of course.

Rescheduled school sports day today, so taking a flexible day to go and see them, and run in the dads race.

Making plans to go and see the new Spiderman film at the weekend, and the boys have extended it first to Pizza Hut as well (as we're in the area) and now want to tack on swimming too. So should be a full Sunday of fun. Will we find time for a bike ride too?

Swimming lesson went quite well yesterday, so pleased.
