Blog2019 ≫ Voted

Local elections today, town council and county council. Voting was at The Fountain, though the bar was not open. Even before 9am the poll clerks (ha) were already sick of the "do we have a pint now?" jokes.

We had three votes in one election and four in another, and luckily there are three Green Party candidates in both. The sitting candidates are nearly all tory though, I don't suppose there will be much of an upset.

Town council (or is it district?) are not my favourites at the moment:

Dear Mr Clarke, Thank you for your e-mail. As previously advised there is a charge to replace Refuse Bins as per our Fees & Charges Policy. If you are stating that our Contractors, Veolia, have damaged your bin then I would suggest you contact them on 01304 240237 where they will carry out an investigation as to how your bin became damaged. However, please note that they may require evidence to show that they had damaged your bin.

I'm going to make my own bin, I can't be buying a new one, but I don't want seagulls spreading our rubbish up the street again.

Remember to go out and vote today. Unless you would vote badly, in which case just stay home.

Busy day today with work and picking up kids and swimming and Clare is taking thing one to a party and then she is going out for some extra work to count the votes tonight.

Done a little work to try and link "gigs" and "blog posts about gigs" again like I used to.
