Blog2019 ≫ Chambers easter ales festival 2019, check

Walked to Chambers beer festival last night as the boys went to bed, so got some epic step count in for the day. It was nice there, no-one that I knew to talk to though. Glad to have got in at the beginning of the festival; I am going with a group of friends on Sunday but often the best beers have sold out by then. So I got to sample the pick of the crop. There were twelve guest ales on, all local. I had a half each of Muzzleloader (Linton), Goody Lord (Herne), Cherryon Top (Tenterden) and Venom (Dover) and all were excellent. If there are any of them left on Sunday I will be pleased, Old Dairy's Cherryon Top was my favourite.

Ciders didn't look good again, I remember thinking this last year. I think they know the kind of ciders their regulars will like and they all have added fruity flavours. There was one normal cider, from Lunatickle but all the others were from Merry Moon and had added peach, pear, elderflower, pineapple, strawberry, and thyme. Not for me.

We're off to Folkestone again today, it is another beautiful day, so looking forward to seeing what the Harbour Arm has to offer. Going to get some lunch out somewhere, I think we may eat separately though. The boys will want something other than the vegan Planet Earth Kitchen that I'm thinking of.
