Blog2019 ≫ Dentist

I had a filling repaired this morning, a filling I don't remember having. I was surprised to see it when I first went back to the dentist after my approximately 20 year absence. Still, all good, it is just a small one, you can't see it. Also had my teeth scaled, that feels weird, I thought they were pretty clean anyway!

Went out for a run yesterday lunchtime, as I was working from home and had no school runs to worry about. In the office again today, trying to wrap some things up for basically a week off. I'm extending the double bank holiday by a couple of days, only to spend time with the boys. Really to make sure Grandpa doesn't take them to mcdonalds for the third time in a week.

We were thinking of going to the cinema but there's nothing good on in Folkestone. We don't want to go much further afield as Clare will be away with the car, she's staying overnight for some work training, and taking the car. She has to drive her colleague and was so embarrassed about the state of it that a) she actually tried to hoover it out herself, quite a sight, and then b) she took it to be valeted.

Not sure what we will do on our days, scooting and riding to the coastal park I think, trying to find a nice lunch out, and maybe going further afield on a train or bus or taxi. As I have no firm plans yet, and the day off is tomorrow, I can see us not doing much.

When Clare is back I'm hoping to get to Chambers beer festival, which starts on Thursday. It wasn't that good last year (though great the year before), I will find out. Thursday I would just pop in briefly while they have a full complement of ales, no-one else is free to come along. Friday I may go to the Inn Doors, though will it be quiet being the bank holiday? Or will it be rowdy with visiting tourists? I hope the latter. Then Saturday I have to stay in as Clare is out with Dom and friends to a restaurant. Sunday is the Chambers beer festival quiz, and I do have a possee of brains for this one so we are in with a shout. Most of the ales will be gone by then but should be a good night.

I could have done with one of my work pay-outs landing this week, I am due a share save, and also a payback on some shares I sold. It will happen very soon, and I'm not short of funds or anything, but it would have been nice to have a fat pocket right before a few days off.
