Blog2018 ≫ Pick of the pops chart rundown of the year

I used to do this sort of thing all the time, every year! Here's my top ten music round up of the year, the top tracks played in the Clarke household over the last year! Spoiler, none of them are mine! This is the year a) Clare and the kids learned to play things and b) I broke my music scrobbling for many months by changing a password. Anyway:

  1. Kshmr — Memories (feat. Sirah)
  2. Sigala — Lullaby
  3. The Killers — All These Things That I've Done
  4. Imagine Dragons — Whatever It Takes
  5. Jack Johnson — Better Together
  6. Jamie T — Zombie
  7. The Magic Numbers — I See You, You See Me
  8. Mark Ronson — Uptown Funk
  9. The Killers — Jenny Was a Friend of Mine
  10. Ben Folds — Lost In The Supermarket

The Killers, The Magic Numbers, and Ben Folds are technically part of my collection but only appear there as the first two are Clare's favourites and the Ben Folds track from Over The Hedge was a big favourite of the boys for a long time. Jack Johnson is there as thing one liked it, it's linked to something they did at school.

So nothing really of mine, I don't even know how some of those go. Guessing they are from Clare's exercise playlists or have some meaning to her.

Next year will be different.

As an aside, I was interested to discover we have actually been to see The Killers though neither of us really remembers them, though I do remember the gig, I bought a stellastarr cd there...

UPDATE: Just to stop this looking so bad, and unreflective of my tastes, here were my top ten artists. It's a bit more generic and backward looking, I generally don't listen to a lot of new music.

  1. Megadeth
  2. The Magic Numbers
  3. Suede
  4. The Cure
  5. The Smiths
  6. Manic Street Preachers
  7. Ben Folds
  8. Blur
  9. David Devant And His Spirit Wife
  10. Belle and Sebastian
