Blog2018 ≫ Dinosaur day - experiment one

Hmm thing two has been talking about Dinosaur Day for a while, and now it's here. Not sure what is exactly meant to happen except we are making dinosaur cakes and biscuits (if I can find some recipes that involve what I have in the house) and doing some experiments. He got George's Marvellous Experiments for his birthday, and this is somehow tied in. We're going to make a volcano out of baking powder and vinegar, and also a diet cola / mento bottle rocket explosion.

I also did an experiment of my own for breakfast that seems to have been successful so far. We all went to Luben last night with old friend Geraldine who was in town, and it was a raging success. Luben have been dreadful on my last two visits and I was not keen to go again, but they have new vegan options. I had vegan pepperoni pizza and doughballs with vegan pesto and it was awesome. Anyway Geraldine told me she had been making oatmeal smoothies that were good, so I tried today, and it was good! My version, what I could remember, adapted for what we had:

and whiz it all up with a blender. Was pretty good, this might be a good regular breakfast. I will wait and see if there are any after effects though...

For the second half I added a couple of spoons of peanut butter too, this was also good. More protein, but more sugar too. Experiment so far a success! Now on with the rest of dinosar day...
