Blog2018 ≫ Summer fair was good but a bit chaotic

We had super weather for the PTA Summer Fair. I got out of work early, though the fair was starting an hour later than I thought. I had to run around and get ice from the supermarket, and I was seriously worried it would melt before I could get it back. Especially in the beetle with absolutely no cooling. Cool but no cooling.

I was volunteered to man the Nerf Gun shooting gallery, one of the few features that was inside, so not ideal. The rest of the fair was great, the live music was really good, it was number one son's teacher's band. They did a Cure cover.

The tombola went a bit wrong, because we had left all of the chocolate based prizes in the kitchen until the last minute out of the heat. With all the volunteer changes the people actually running the tombola didn't know this. So each time one of those prizes was drawn, and there seemed to be no prize, it all kicked off.

We didn't win anything in the raffle, there were some good prizes there, but number two son won a lego set in the tombola. The family that won the Dinosaurs In The Wild tickets had actually already been, what are the chances. They're passing the tickets on to friends.

After clearing up and washign up I strolled along to the Inn Doors for one, but no-one there really to chat to. One good friend was but he seemed to be on a date so I finished my cider and headed home to watch The Last Leg.

Today we're going into Folkestone, trying to buy me some trainers. I got my new Anker wireless earbuds yesterday too1, and pleased with them for the price. You will see me jogging along the sea front any day now.

This heatwave looks due to last the next couple of weeks.
