We went into Folkestone, to Waterstones and to Payers Park, though it was cold. We tried to go to Beano's but were given SHORT SHRIFT, they were full, too busy, get out, bit rude really. It was not the owner who spoke to us, but must have been Saturday staff who were run off their feet, but still. A) we might have just wanted takeaway and b) don't they have seating downstairs too? It wasn't nice enough to sit outside. So onward we went!
13CC coffee + cycle shop tried it on a bit too in my opinion. They are cashing in on the veganuary craze and had an offer, buy a vegan cake or a panini and get a free coffee, I'll have some of that! But oh no, it has to be a panini AND a cake. It definitely says panini OR cake here on this flyer I say. Well that must have been written down wrong. It is printed, it is on all of them, and on your own menus, and on that menu board on the wall "panini OR cake" it definitely says. GIVE ME MY FREE COFFEE. They honoured it in the end. Thinking twice about going back there again too. Not a great day for the cafes of Folkestone, especially when there is choice now.
If it had not been rammed full we would have gone in Steep Street. Next time.
