Blog2017 ≫ Still figuring out the Amazon Echo myself

⬆️Merry Christmas

Alexa is fun, getting it to tell you jokes and asking for info, great fun especially for the children. It sounds like I'm going to struggle to play my music on it, unlesss I want to pay a subscription for amazon music or spotify. I probably should have gone for a google home instead, though there must be a way to make it work using just bluetooth and the existing raspberry pi setup, will need some work though.

I got one free philips hue bulb with it, the're giving away the edison screw bulbs as no-one has these fittings any more. I have one! But because I already have a lightwaverf switch for that socket I can't use it. Have to replace one or the other... the reason I got the echo plus was because of the built in hue bridge so I could get some ikea lights and operate them, so I will get this all working over the christmas break.

raspberry pi: Credit card sized super cheap computer, awesome.
