It is (I thought) a crime drama serial in the style of a true crime podcast, but now it has ended and I've started searching for info about it (didn't want any spoilers) the only things I can find seem to be saying that it is real. Surely not? Though it being real is the only thing that makes sense in terms of the ending.
I got to this from the Adam Buxton podcast where he said he was going to be talking about S-Town and there would be spoilers, so turn off now. I turned off, and listened to the whole series over about a week. Time to tune back in to Adam Buxton then...
