British Airways and Easyjet have sent text alerts to customers warning of delays at EU border controls.
BA said it is asking travellers to arrive early as it is expecting longer queues due to "enhanced immigration checks" across Europe.
TELL ME ABOUT IT we had fierce queues to get in and out of Corfu, when using the port, going to and from Albania. No real passport checks when entering Corfu from the UK, our big delay there was baggage, but we were queued for an hour and a half for passport checks when trying to get too Albania, and then maybe an hour on the way back on the Corfu side. Security checks were mostly non existent, we put our bags through the scanner and walked through the metal detectors. Everyone set it off (including me, with belt and wallet and money and things) but no-one was bothered about this, only about giving everyone a hard time over their passport. Seemed needlessly beureaucratic to me, rather than particularly competent.
I will almost definitely be back to write up more about our Corfu holiday and our trip to Albania soon. Almost definitely. In the meantime I have put up some public friendly photos here 1 this is a subset of all my pictures but without the kids and other personal things in... if you'd like to see all the pictures (sure I have already shared them with anyone who might read this) let me know...
