Blog2017 ≫ Got to the bottom of the boiler service mystery

I had some mail a few weeks back saying "your boiler service is due" which I did nothing about, but then got more letters and texts saying "your service is booked", someone was coming round last Monday. I didn't pay for this service, so was the first one free? Or is there some mistake? Then the confusion about it being a landlord check, this property is rented, yeah? Which I thought I had sorted out at the time. A Landlord Gas Safety Record arrived in the post, for this property, but saying the landlord was a company in Ashford. Spoke to Swale heating on the phone, it seems someone has booked a landlord check for their property, someone's set it up for my property instead. So on the one hand I got the free service, but on the other SOMEONE'S BEEN IN MY HOUSE WHO SHOULD NOT BE. They've not done anything more sinister than counted my smoke alarms, and person on the phone assured me nothing had been sent to this "landlord". Not sure what to do about it, they've fixed the account now, and my boiler is still in warranty as it has had the required service...
