Blog2017 ≫ Manchester benefit concert announced

They're turning it around really quickly. It's very pop, but it will be a good thing:

Justin Bieber, Coldplay and Katy Perry are among the stars who will join Ariana Grande at a tribute concert following the Manchester attack. The concert will be held less than two weeks after 22 people were killed by a suicide attack as people left Grande's show at Manchester Arena. The 23-year-old US singer will perform at the Old Trafford cricket ground on Sunday. The venue has a 50,000 capacity and the gig will be live on BBC TV and radio. Others performing include Take That, One Direction's Niall Horan, Miley Cyrus, Usher and Pharrell.

Not quite the Stone Roses / Smiths combo that it might have been. But maybe it'll be like the Freddie Mercury tribute where they had that amazing warm up before the main event of Extreme, Def Leppard, Metallica, and Guns n' Roses. Probably not.
