Blog2017 ≫ Clare's polling station is cold

Cold and quiet. She's stuck there all day and can't leave until it closes at 10pm, and it is a draughty church hall, and the heating is not working. I CYCLED along to deliver her a vest and a scarf and more socks and tea, yes CYCLED! It nearly killed me haven't been out on the bike for ages. The polling station is in Folkestone, and just too far for me to walk there and back in my lunch hour. In the car it'd be easy but then I'd get no exercise today, so the bike is a good compromise. First pumping up the tires was quite enough exercise. Annoyingly this has not counted as today's steps so I'm very unlikely to hit my 10,000 step count target today but a) I know I have really done it and b) no-one else is looking at my numbers as they only exist on my pebble.

I would do that ride more often if I could make it "count" somehow. I can be at the Inn Doors in five minutes and Chambers in about fifteen, so could do a lunchtime pint no problem, but I'm quite addicted to my steps.
