Blog2017 ≫ Nice payday Saturday in Canterbury

Lunch in Zizzi and a little light shopping. Clare got some new boots to replace the ones that I changed the colour of. My colour vision is not the best I have to trust her that this is what has happened and I have not just been scammed out of a new pair of boots. We were lucky with the price, they were 50% off as they were the very last pair, it's not really the time of year to be buying or selling boots so they were nicely reduced.

The boys bought comics, they don't even really read them though it's just about the crap disposable toy on the front of the comic. Not like it my day, etc. Next time they're getting a book instead, they're about the same price. Again, they were not in my day! 2000AD was 26p when I bought it, compare that to buying a new paperback book at the time which would have been maybe a pound or two? Yesterday Ninjago comic was five pounds, and I also bought them both a book each Magic Tree House: Moon Mission1 and Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw1 for about two pounds fifty each.

I'm not just being a grumpy old man here and saying "eee it were all cheaper in my day" it's the relative price that concerns me, why is a disposable comic twice the price of a book?

Hmm I only turned the computer on to order more Nespresso, we are completely out.

💬 Nearly forgot we got 20 off our Zizzi meal
