Hmm, paid out big this week for our holiday. Booked it last year but time to pay for it came around, so this has been an expensive month... Holidays are expensive aren't they? I decided last year to stop trying to skimp and say "we can't afford a holiday" and to just sell some shares each year and go for it, so the boys have some happy holiday memories and experiences. This is the first one of those where I've actually stumped up the cash for the four of us to go away together. In the past we've lived off the generosity of Mum and Dad or Clare's folks for a couple of big trips. But this one is down to me. I think this is the fourth most expensive thing I've bought, after 1) this house 2) the previous flat 3) the current car. It's more expensive than our last car or Clare's engagement ring, which would be the next two...
Got some special holiday savings which should do our trips for the next two years too, then to start planning for the next one...
