Blog2017 ≫ Soup maker is up the creek

A weekend of making soup, or trying to. Clare has been ill, the same sickness bug that the boys also had. So she didn't want much to eat, but did want some lunches for work in the week, so I tried to make this soup recipe she likes1 but in my soup maker. I inherited this model2 and it's been good, but seemed to give up part way through that batch yesterday. Possibly I had just overfilled it which made it cut out. Trying it again today with a kind of "roast dinner" soup (roasted vegetables, potato, broccoli) and I'm not sure if it's quite working, the "whizzer" bit of it does seem to cut out a bit quickly. Will see how this one turns out and then I guess just chuck it. I could get another one - Clare thinks I should - but I don't really use it that much. Was great for free, but not sure it's worth the opportunity cost.

It is whizzing up this batch, so hopefully was just user error last time.

Very quiet weekend, Clare didn't go to work because she was sick, and we didn't want to go out as it's not nice out. I still walked though, got my step count ok. Today we're off to see the Lego Batman Movie.
