Blog2017 ≫ Day 30 of not drinking

That has gone pretty smoothly... I have probably mentioned not drinking every single one of those days at some point, but it went OK. Didn't really miss it, though a few times I have whistfully walked past the pub and thought how nice it would be to be inside. I have definitely had more early nights this month, maybe because I felt more tired, but maybe just out of lack of other things to do.

Has it been any healthier? Hard to tell. Clare has weighed herself and lost no weight at all through not drinking, but she didn't have any spare. I probably feel the same as I did during December's gluttonous feasting, but I have had a takeaway the last two days.

Here's to a few more days of not drinking, I will break my fast at the weekend. As with last year, we'll carry on the new few months drinking less (less than we might) so not drinking at all in the week.

Dad had his cataract appointment today, they've booked him in for six weeks time to do one eye, so no driving until then. The operation will be March 6th, then a week's recovery, then should be able to drive again, then go in again for the other eye. Hoping they will still make it to our little visit to London this weekend. I'm not whooping and cheering in advance about our trip to London1 as it's bad form to say "hey we'll be away from our house this weekend" even if no-one else is reading it, but that's the plan. Staying in Camden in a Holiday Inn so it could well be that my first fast-breaking pint will be in the Good Mixer, you just never know.
