No joy on the gearbox, I don't think they looked. He did say "didn't spot anything" when replacing the gaiter. Maybe it needs a serious gearbox investigation. Definitely it needs going in and saying "only look at that" rather than "here are a list of things" when there is a chance of something being forgotten. Anyway, it's all MOT'd and it has a new seatbelt and we are a two car family again.
