Blog2016 ≫ Fun weekend

Number one son's homework was a breeze, he had to learn spellings and times tables and had a practise exercise for them to fill out. Also reading, he reads so much this is not a chore at all. I'm very proud of how good he is at this stuff. He also seems to be very keen and good at being a goalkeeper at the moment, wants to play constantly. Super proud of him starting to question the religious claptrap that they seem to be pushing more and more of in school. At first he didn't like to talk to me about it as he likes school and was struggling with the idea that I didn't like the religious bits as much as he did. Now he's suddenly figured out "how can it be true?" and is questioning everything. Smart kid!

Number two son still has a bit of a sniffle, he's been super cute all weekend though. I hope the cuteness and cuddliness doesn't go when the cold does.

We had a great weekend, though Clare was away seeing The Cure. We did some jobs round the house and then headed off into Folkestone. I had to go to Argos to exchange a christmas gift I'd bought. I bought two of them the same and - while I can't say what they are yet - they were not absolutely identical, one looked to me as if it had already been opened and returned to the shop. Box was sealed but just little things about the gift inside were a bit iffy. So exchanged it for one of the same and this time I have two of the same, and think I will have two very happy recipients on christmas morning.

We also walked through town to the big slide in Payers Park, was suspiciously unslidey that day though. On to Beano's for vegan cakes and juice, really good, then home again to make them pizza for tea and to watch The Grinch.

Clare came back Sunday lunchtime with a bit of a hangover... off round to Jim's as it was his birthday to take him presents and a cake that Clare had made. I walked back from there and it was freezing, but at least I've kept my step count, safely over 10k per day still.

10k: Ten kilometres, just over six miles in old money. Sometimes talking about 10,000 steps though, an arbitrary daily step count target.
