Blog2016 ≫ Self assessment fun

I have to do a tax self assessment in order to declare the dividend we got earlier this year from work. I just knew it was going to be a world of pain. Last did these about 15 years ago or more when I was briefly a director of popex, but then when I went paye again for so long they let me off. I think. Or maybe I just moved house too many times, and I have a huge backlog of fines to pay..?

I'm trying to register on tax.service.gov.uk1 now, it says I'm already registered and have to enter a code number that I don't have. I can recover it if I put in my address and phone number and things. These don't seem to be the same as they have on file for my NI number... Trying to speak to an advisor. This is all I'm going to have to talk about between now and the end of January. If it's not all sorted by then there will be a fine.
