Blog2016 ≫ Missed my Really Useful box bargain

Missed out on a multipack of Really Useful Boxes at B&Q the other day because the price was wrong; a pack of six boxes reduced from 20 to 17, but the discount didn't show up at the checkout, so I didn't buy them. Came home, checked the price, 20 for ONE, went back on Wednesday and they'd all gone, bah. This is the one I need1, to stash some old NME and Melody Maker in, but it's not really worth paying 20 to do it. If I can find another multi pack then I'll do it, as the smaller ones are good too. I got a good multi pack bargain at Maplin once too so I'll keep looking...

Asking around what to do with these old papers, I sort of want to get rid of them but don't have the heart as I've hoarded them for years.

AARGH this is the deal1 maybe I misread it? Reduce from 70 to 20, not 20 to 17...

[s]These might do the job2, from ASDA. Not quite as big but the right dimensions[/s] scrap that sounded the right dimensions but that is external, so not big enough to lay down my old music papers... It's got to be the eighty-four litre job or nothing.

I asked advice on popbitch about what to do with these, half heartedly really. Actually got a sensible answer though, someone else had thought the same and taken theirs to vintage magazines to see what they were worth. They said just to bin them.

If NME had not gone free maybe that'd not have devalued them so much. Maybe they'll pick up again in twenty or thirty years though so some storage boxes are probably still worth a go.
