Blog2016 ≫ 100% of the traffic to this website is robot spam

To any reasonable margin of error 100% of the visits to this website of mine are scraping robots, and bot scripts attempting to post spam. It's quite disheartening really. I'm watching the logs roll up, and about 90% of it is bing and yahoo scraping the content, but then no traffic actually gets here via bing or yahoo. Then a lot is from foreign search engines, that also yield no visitors. I see quite a bit of traffic that follows the pattern "request a page that has a please-leave-a-comment" link on it and then follow that link" but as that then takes you to a twitter auth page no message ever gets posted. It's not broken (I don't think...) but the spam posting bot gives up at that point.

At least this might be an interesting diary for the me of the future to read. Apart from these entries where I'm complaining about spam. "Oh what a millennial issue that was" the future me will say, on his hover board.

Weather is nice enough again, had a slightly shortened walk at lunch today as an issue came up right before lunch that I helped with. Had a slight PANIC yesterday that I wasn't going to walk at all as I got a twinge in my back in the morning, but it went away again with some painkillers.

Got Number one son's swimming tonight for the first time since before the summer, hope he's ok with it again...

Ooh nearly the twenty-fifth anniversary of one of my top gigs I see, it's coming up in two days time.
