Blog2016 ≫ So lots of weekend activity

Clare was working on Saturday, and we needed the car so all had to be up early driving her in. We still can't do anything as a family in the beetle as there are no seatbelts, and that's unlikely to change... So back with the car and off to hospital! No emergency, but Number one son had an appointment about his hearing. About three months ago the GP told us he had glue ear and this is finally the consultation with a proper hearingologist about that. The doctor said "so you've got concerns about his hearing?" and I said "well he's got glue ear.." "I'LL TELL YOU IF HE'S GOT GLUE EAR OR NOT!". That annoyed me. Then ten seconds of looking in his ear and we're on our way again, it's cleared up by itself, nothing wrong with his hearing. He's going to have another hearing test and a pressure test to be sure, and of course they couldn't do that at the same place, so we have to wait to hear. We weren't in there too long, but as we were in Ashford yesterday I thought I'd take the boys to Imagine.

Imagine is a big soft play type place, like Kidz Planet but a bit better. It was raining, so going to be busy, but at first the car park was so busy we couldn't get in at all. This caused SCREAMING, so we went round the block and tried again and luckily someone was leaving, so we got in. These are not my favourite places to visit at all, but the food situation was surprisingly good! They have a vegan menu, so I had pasta salad and - get me - a fennel tea. It was OK, smelled better than it tasted really. The boys did not eat their food at all, this led to a bit of an annoying stand off. Neither of them is good at eating right now.

Saturday tea time when Clare got in (her Dad delivered her home so we did not have to go out again) I popped out, well I deserved it, to Inn Doors. I had tried to call in there Thursday lunchtime when I was WFH, I walked up to it but it was closed! So I was determined to get back soon, so Saturday tea-time it was. I had a 3 x 1/3 sampler of the cider and it was very nice.

The boys watched Over The Hedge on Saturday night, a film I've had for ages and they've not seen. They loved it, very funny. They really like the music too, maybe Ben Folds will be the gateway into good music for them...

Sunday we had a quiet day mostly in the house but also went to The Range to get some DIY bits, and then to "the park in the dip". This is the park in Sandgate that I don't know another name for. They have lots of new equipment there, and we realise there's free access to the tennis and basketball courts, so next time we're taking some kit up there.

I fell off the wobbly beam that neither boy had an issue with, and I've got a bruise now, ouch.
