Blog2016 ≫ Twenty five years ago today I was at Guns n' Roses

Yoinks a quarter of a century ago was the first time I saw Guns n' Roses, and also Skid Row, and also the only time I saw Nine Inch Nails. Was a coach trip up from Fareham, a hot all day event, lots of waiting for the bands to come on. Don't remember much of Nine Inch Nails but I was a massive fan of Skid Row, their set was great. Some odd ranting, mostly at the rules that had been set about what they could play, and what they could not, and that they should not swear. Singer Sebastian Bach did not take kindly to this and did not play by the rules and they were subsequently banned from playing at Wembley again (so their next big show was at Docklands instead). Also a massive personal attack on a journalist from the Daily Mirror I think, who had misquoted or misrepresented the band, Sebastian dropped his trousers and wiped his bottom with the paper. Lovely.

This is when Guns 'n Roses were good, so no diva-ish behaviour that I remember. The last gig with the full proper line-up of the band I believe.
