Blog2016 ≫ Beer festival weekend

Full and busy weekend, two days at the Beer Festival at Ashcroft Arts Centre, great to catch up with so many friends, and the beer was a bonus. Friday night I was meeting just Andy but then bumped into another old college friend Gravedigger who I've not seen for probably 25 years. Then a fairly peaceful day Saturday when we went up to Fort Nelson, it has a great museum and visitor's centre now, interesting way to spend an afternoon.

Tried to walk into the beer festival for the second night, but we had some serious rain for most of the weekend, and I got caught in it a bit on my walk. My step count should have been fantastic for the weekend, but a) I didn't walk home until after midnight on Friday / Saturday so didn't make my 10,000 target that day, and then something went wrong and my walk home Saturday night was completely lost. Think the battery ran out. Still, enjoyed the fest again the second day, met more old friends who I don't see very often. Also saw a good band the New Grass Cutters, they play covers in a newgrass style. Like bluegrass but new.

Great lunch on Sunday with the family then a fairly dull drive home. number two son slept nicely but Number one son wasn't happy all the way home.

Still disappointed about the referendum result but trying to keep positive about it. Mostly at the moment I'm positive it's not actually going to happen! Most people seem to have realised it's actually a mistake, even the most pro-brexiteers seem to be backing away from it. Interesting that they're all trying to reverse away from all the lies and negative campaigning, hmm there's actually no more money for the NHS, no we can't change immigration at all. Never mind the legal challenges from Scotland and the petitioners.
