The gist is:

Council buys land in January, not for development ¹
Council announces plans for 20,000 houses on that land in May ²

I deleted my thoughtful and eloquent blog post on the subject by mistake... Streetlife has more here ³.

It seems to swallow up my office, which must be some mistake.

On the plus side it's named Otter Pool Park, maybe there will be otters.
