Had a good first day in my new job, some things are going to take some getting used to but it went fine. That's one day down, about a hundred and eighty to go before I get another nice little bonus for taking this role. After six months I qualify for the little helping out sweetener.
Brilliant driving the beetle today, got lots of nice looks and smiles from people. Either they loved to see it coming down the road, or they were laughing at me. Met another VW driver in the new job, he parked his '73 GT Beetle next to ours and ran out to say hi when I came out to drive home. Someone else said "whose is that cool car" too, nice.
Swimming tonight, so Number one son was waiting for me at the front door when I came in. I swapped cars and drove the Peugeot to swimming and it was HARD and WEIRD. I wonder if it'll be better or worse swapping back and forth each day?
Thinking of getting a new wing mirror for the beetle as the one on there has been knocked and hangs down a bit. Going to get a stainless steel one, might go for something custom. this is not a Maltese cross though1 is it? It's an iron cross I'd have thought. Not after one of those but considering a Mooneyes bullet mirror2, and that dodgy looking cross is also made by them.
