Blog2016 ≫ Twenty years ago today: NME Bratbus tour

In my head this gig has always been a bit earlier, 1994 or '95 maybe, but this is definitely the one, there's a review here1. I liked all of these bands in advance of the gig so was very pleased with this lineup. I headed up from Hampshire, must have taken a day off for it, as I went to HMV (or another big record shop) for a pre-gig event. I met up with some virtual friends from the uk-indie mailing list on the way too. Did I drive, or did someone else? We went up by road because I remember picking someone up at Guildford on the way.

Think I'd seen three of the bands before the show, or maybe soon after, at local gigs; The Bluetones, Fluffy, and Heavy Stereo. The Cardigans were new on me.

This was a great four band show. I think I got some signed gubbins from some of them too, I'll have to dig it out.

Thought I had a ticket still from this one, but not scanned in.
