Blog2016 ≫ Given up on Bright Pi for this evening

Spent about ninety minutes trying to do a simple bit of soldering to assemble one of my christmas presents1, and getting absolutely nowhere. "There are just a fair few components to solder so if you are an absolute beginner at soldering it may take you up to half an hour to complete" HA. I suppose it must be my soldering skills that are non existent, but I'd like to think there's something wrong somewhere. The contact points on the circuit board seems to be repelling my solder, so the solder will stick to the legs of the leds but is hovering a short distance from the bit it's meant to be joining to. I'm not blaming the board but I'm going to get some new solder. And maybe a new soldering iron.

Not sure right now why I am soldering instead of drinking on a Saturday night.
