Blog2015 ≫ Action packed weekend

Did my bar work, at the Seabrook school PTA barbecue and it went well. Wasn't as busy during my shift as expected, but it was a well attended event. I hope they raised plenty of money, though everything seemed to be 20p a go so they would have needed a lot of goes.

Saturday Clare worked so I took the boys into Folkestone for the Open Quarter. Lots going on round the creative quarter, but we started in the town centre. Had a few chores to do, drop off some stuff in a charity shop and a bit of shopping. Lady in the charity shop remembered us from the last time we'd done this. Not the only time I was recognised this weekend though...

There was stuff on in the town centre, music and things, and also a Paul Babra1 stand! This is our favourite chutney that we used to get in Canterbury but is now harder to track down. Last time we tried we went to Ashford but the market was mostly rained off so we ordered online. I bought some more here, in person and told them what we'd done. They said "are you from Hythe?". Seems we were the very first people to ever order online from them, though they've had a few since.

So pleased with how things went, and with the chilli pickle I got that I had my photo taken with him:

Then we headed down towards the harbour area. Our plan was to walk home from there along the beach, because Number one son had to make a beach picture for homework so we thought we'd collect stuff on the beach and make a collage. On the way there though we were distracted, first by Payers Park and the slide, then thought we'd pop in Beano's for a coffee. Just a coffee, maybe a cake. However they had the breakfast menus out and I'd not actually had a breakfast, so I ended up having the full vegan, very very nice:

More to write later, I have cleaning to do today while Clare is out at Number one son's swimming lesson, and number two son is watching TV.
