Blog ≫ 2015 ≫ Pop-up power stations

I loved the floating turbines in Big Hero 6, and I've just seen they're real. They're mentioned in the Boston Startups episode of BBC Click.

The floating turbine looks like a hot air balloon in the shape of a fan, but it's a turbine harvesting the power of the wind up at that height, and sending it back down to earth through its tether.
