Blog2015 ≫ Thinking of getting a Pebble smart watch

I've not worn a watch for years and years, 25 maybe? Watches have moved on since I last had one. Now I'm interested in the possibilities of a smart watch, particularly pebble smart watch1...

I saw this smart diy garage door opener2 that really got me kick started. I don't have an electric garage door, I don't even have a garage, but I liked the neatness of this, and that it's all just in javascript, and that I could start to use this for controlling my own lights and blinds and things, building on all of the robot house work that I've already done.

Oh and it also tells the time.

Should I get one?

UPDATE: I bought one. I had not spent my birthday money from last year, not really anyway. I had stashed it away and had to use it to pay the massive car bill when the airbag needed replacing. So now we just had a profit share pay day I have cash in the bank again, so time to spend it.

And I've sorted out my mobile phone too, got more minutes and data for less money on a sim onlypay as you go, so next to probably get a new handset...

javascript: Programming language of the internets, mostly how I earn a wage.
