Blog2015 ≫ Reckon I have fried another Raspberry Pi model A

This is my model A+1 that I got for christmas. No idea what I've done, was ok plugged in a few times with the camera module attached to it, but when I moved it to another room it's stopped responding. Perhaps I should give up on the model A.

I have now plugged it into a TV so I can see what's going on (usually I run them headless and rely on being about to ssh in over the wifi) and I see a kernel panic message - not sure if this is recoverable, hopefully it's just that it can't mount the sd card.

This is the third raspberry pi I have fried I think. Not thrown them out yet in case I'm missing something, but think I should be brave and just put them in the recycling.

UPDATE: It might be ok, might be just the sd card. I have formatted and put noobs2 on it again and it's ok. Now to configure it with my wifi credentials put pi motion on it and see if it does it again...

UPDATE UPDATE: configured it, all looking ok, powered off, plugged in the wifi card (on the model a there is only one usb so I have to unplug the keyboard to plug the wifi card in), powered back on... and nothing, no power light, no response at all. Seems properly dead now. To the bin with you little model a+. Shame, with it's smaller size and even lower power consumption I thought it would be good for my shed computer. I suspect it didn't want to be put out in the shed in this weather...

raspberry pi: Credit card sized super cheap computer, awesome.
