Blog2014 ≫ Aaargh home automation pi has stopped responding

My main raspberry pi that acts as the home automation server (connects to the calendar, sees if it's time to turn something on or off, sends the message to the lightwaverf wifi link to do the job, logs it, etc) has been off the past three mornings. First time I put it down to a power cut, second time I thought ok maybe something up but rebooted it and all was OK. Today it's just hanging again and won't reboot... I run it "headless", never need a monitor or keyboard on it I only use it remotely, I can trust it to just do its job. But no more! Not sure what to do now, I hope it's just the sd card that has got corrupted, maybe it's just at the end of it's life, it has had a lot of reads and writes over the past couple of years. I'll try swapping it out, might not have to replace the raspberry pi at all.

This is a disaster, this means the blinds in the playroom won't open and close by themselves today!

Also on a lightwaverf tip, I got my replacement energy monitor yesterday. Have not tried it yet.

raspberry pi: Credit card sized super cheap computer, awesome.
