Blog2014 ≫ Farewell then Folkestone's Banksy

Folkestone had a Banksy for a very short while. It's been cut down now and sold, what a shame. Particularly disappointing (or inept, however you like to look at it) considering the council seem to have put some resource into protecting it and cleaning it. The owners of the building it was on (an arcade) seem to have cut it down in order to sell it, it could go for 300k apparently. Some details here1. Glad I saw it.

Doesn't seem right that it's been cut down and sold off, should probably have been left in place. What now for the arcade where it was? I guess I'd say boycott that business, but I'm not sure I could boycott a business I'd never use anyway.

Next time Banksy paint it on the library or something.
