Blog2014 ≫ Installing Debian on a Dell Inspiron 1525

I have kidnapped Mum's laptop it is a Dell Inspiron 1525, they don't use it because it is too slow. It has windows vista on it but it was never powerful enough to run that operating system so I'm putting debian on it instead. It works nicely on all my raspberry pis so I think it should be OK! All installed ok though the built in wifi doesn't work and here's why1. Got to try another driver, fingers crossed.

I have to have a network lead trailing from the router across to the table (at neck height) while I work on this, nice and safe! Also my rf butler2 is offline while I do this as I have a limited number of network ports.

raspberry pi: Credit card sized super cheap computer, awesome.
