Blog2014 ≫ Went to Escondido with work

Nice meal out with work, to Escondido, I've not been for a while. I had the vege paella as always, but branched out into a cocktail, sangria, for a change. All finished very early, most people were driving and I'm the only one in walking distance. I looked in The Providence on the way home (looked in the window only), seemed to be no-one in there though they do have a pool table now. I also peered in The Ship where I thought of stopping for one, but again it was empty, so I did not. I know someone has to be the first person in a pub or they'd all be empty, always, but I didn't fancy sitting in an empty pub. I did stop in The Clarendon as it was raining harder by this point. They had some good beer on including one from Dark Star, I drank it and read the local paper, mostly the saga of the Banksy. Surprised that it was the local council who have put up the protective screen in front of it, even though it is painted on private property.

Was still raining for my walk home, so hard that the drain had burst open at the top of Brewers Hill, water was gushing up out of the pavement like a (fairly weak) fountain.
