Blog2014 ≫ Can't believe how troublesome number one son has been this weekend

He's started behaving like a teenager, and he's only five! He's just figured out the technique of repeating what you said back to him, but in a slightly rude tone of voice, not sure where it's come from. He can't help himself so we keep getting in to rows...

"Can you finish your dinner first please" "Can YOU finish YOUR dinner first THANK YOU!" "Excuse me?" "Excuse YOU!"

etc ad nauseum... It kicked off again yesterday because he wouldn't try a new dinner Clare had made, which made for an awful evening, and then we had much the same this morning. Very frustrating. Today I shouted at him, bellowed until he cried, which was surely a mistake, but nothing else is sinking in. Clare had already planned a fun day out today for him and some school friends which would be very hard to cancel so we couldn't threaten to take that away really. I've taken away his computer time for the day, but then am struggling after that as he's spending the day with Granny and Grandpa tomorrow and it's not fair for them to reinforce this.

I love him so much, this is pretty tricky stuff. number one son if you're reading this in years to come, I love you so much, why are you being a pain in my bottom? I suppose if this annoying answering back is the worst we get then I've done ok...

Number two son is being a proper start right now, jus starting saying "Daddy" yesterday instead of "Dada" which was lovely.
