Blog2014 ≫ Thinking of getting a Spark Core next

Have realised that all of the fiddling about I've done to make my robot butler start tweeting again1 could have been done a lot easier with a spark core2, so I might start migrating to that. Looks nice and easy to integrate properly with other mains devices too. I'm not abandoning lightwaverf or arduino but I'm just going to have a play.

Lots of really nice projects3 already done using this kit too.

I particularly like this cheesy comment from their "build a nest thermostat in a day hackathon" project page4:

Your billion dollar company starts with a million dollar product, and your million dollar product starts with a hundred dollar prototype. So what are you waiting for?

Here's the core part5, then there's a relay shield6 for having it control the power of other devices, then for some reason the battery adapter7 is shaped like a moustache...

arduino: Microcontroller, hardware prototyping platform, a tiny specialised computer.
