Events at the Mermaid Cafe Bar all this summer

FG ≫ 2014 ≫ Events at the Mermaid Cafe Bar all this summer

Guitar lessons, Tai Chi, art workshops and a book club are on offer all over the summer, sounds great!

The Mind, Body and Soul evenings were the brainchild of the Mermaid's owners Clare Townley and Sarah Reed, who got in touch with local artist Deborah Crofts. Deborah then invited other tutors to join her in leading six weeks of activities at the Mermaids spectacular location beside the sea.

Says Deborah: "This is a chance to explore your creativity, learn new skills, meet friends, join informal discussions with like-minded people, enjoy light exercise and meditate within the beautiful surroundings of the beach, Coastal Park and the welcoming environment of the Mermaids Caf Bar."

Beginning on Monday 28 July and running until 11 September, the sessions cover a different theme each evening:

Activities can be booked and paid for at the Mermaids Caf Bar and also online via the individual event links on Facebook. Classes cost 60 per activity for six weeks or 12 per activity on the night. For further information call the Mermaids Caf Bar on 07716 145888 or check the Mind, Body and Soul Facebook page at facebook.com/MindBodySoulMermaids1

This is my website The 'Gerald that I set up in a fury of excitement when I first came to Folkestone sometime in 2004. I had been a frequent visitor for a while before that so I am technically one of those DFLs you get nowadays. The site was updated more frequently with a gig calendar and voting for favourite places + things, + I hear it was a useful resource for others who were moving to the area. Now Iʼve moved out of Folkestone again (though only to Hythe) it doesnʼt get as much love as it used to. Ironic really as Folkestone itself is now becoming the exciting place we knew it was just about to. I am not Gerald by the way, the name comes from a pretend newspaper in an episode of Brasseye or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, + how there is a local newspaper here called the Folkestone Herald. Puns like this are great arenʼt they? Do contact me if you have anything to contribute, email anythign @ this domain, or try @folkestone or @pauly on the twitter.
