Blog2014 ≫ 9500 for a very rough looking split screen van

Rough looking split screen panel van here1, asking 9500 for it. The prices seem to be rising literally as I am watching. I know "rat look" is very trendy right now, but this one is not even running. And it's a left hooker. Compare and contrast with this feller2 which looks really nice and is "only" double the price of that one. Even if I had the money and / or the skills to take on a project like that panel van I'm sure it'd cost another 10k to get it up to standard. Would sure be lovely to have the money and the time to do this.

There was a spectacular vw van on George Clarke's Amazing Spaces3 this week, that had a lot of money spent on it. Cost 8k originally (though we didn't see what state it was in) and had another 40k spent on it making it just right. It had a full rebuild, expensive wheels, upgraded engine and lots of lovely little details that you would not spot at a casual glance. Curiously enough for a vegan, my favourite feature was the leather interior! It was all done in a brown "antique" leather, including the modern style rock and roll bed. You have to see it, my gushing can't do it justice. I will track it down online...

UPDATE: Here is an article4 with a few more details, details that were not on the show. I'll try and find more.

5k: Five kilometres, just over three miles to you.

10k: Ten kilometres, just over six miles to you. Sometimes talking about 10,000 steps though, an arbitrary daily step count target.
