Blog2014 ≫ Oh also my spinal chord is split in two

Got the results of my MRI, somehow my spinal chord is split in two. It's probably not the cause of the pain of the last year, but it is an oddity. It splits in two for a bit and there is a septum between the two halves (did some tissue grow in there?) then it rejoins again. There is some kind of split in my spine too. It's a "developmental issue", so not an injury or anything but something that has just grown like that. This is probably related to the spina biffida occulta I've had since birth, but I don't really know and neither did the doctor. This does explain why I have been booked in for more MRIs; I'm having my lumbar, thorax, and head MRI'd on Sunday, and I'm also being referred to a neurologist. I still have the back pain, the doctor says it's probably not the sacroiliac disfunction that they thought before as nothing significant showed up. I think I am a bit of a medical oddity. On the plus side they gave me more pain killers.
