Blog2014 ≫ The New Cross (some good ideas for Folkestone here)

Some nice stuff here1 including a neighbourhood plan for New Cross. I lived in New Cross for a few years, so did Clare. It was pretty run down when we were there, was just on the edge of being shoreditch style trendy. Permanently on the edge, people kept saying it was on it's way up but for years it seemed to be not quite there. Sound familiar? Yes New Cross has a lot in common with Folkestone.

I particularly like this idea2 a proposed goods exchange and skill swap, like a market, in fact I love this idea and am going to push it to people I can think of round here. Just like a boot fair it would surely instantly get cluttered up with professional traders selling rubbish, but the idea is a good one. I'd love to go along and offer my skills (hmm, what skills, do you need your website colour changing from battleship grey to military grey?) swap books, find someone to help me out with my projects etc. It's probably too dreamy to work, but we'll see.
