Blog2014 ≫ Lightwaverf energy monitor

Solved the issue with my lightwaverf energy monitor tonight - well sort of. It's them, not me, lightwaverf have done a remote firmware updated, and it's broken things. Raised a support ticket as per this thread and waiting on a response.

Interestingly (though not confidence inspiring) lightwaverf.com now forwards to thesmartshop.co.uk/lightwaverf1. I have picked the right week to a) choose nest.com2 for my heating / thermostat and b) start hardware hacking with the raspberry pi - I am a short step from using my raspberry pi to control the lights and so on without needing the wifi link. I have got an led blinking:

if you can blink an led you can do anything... next step plug in my rf transmitter direct to the pi and flog the wifi link, then I am free of rogue breaking firmware updates.

It's late, I should have gone to bed before this.

raspberry pi: Credit card sized super cheap computer, awesome.
