Setting up my new raspberry pi and things just got a bit heated. I need a usb hub for this raspberry pi, at least to set it up, because otherwise I can't plug the keyboard and the wifi in at the same time. I have two hubs, I think I bought two because one of them is duff. So plugged in the first one and nothing, keyboard and mouse not recognised. Dug the other one out, plugged it in and... SMOKE! My wifi dongle that I bought at the same time as the pi from cpc.co.uk1 just melted and started giving off smoke. That's not good! At least the pi was not plugged into it at the time. Oh, and of course at least it happened while I was watching, and not later, setting the house on fire.
I'm sure the usb hub is to blame. Annoying though! Now I need another usb hub, AND a new wifi dongle.
On a related note Clare said the fire engine (that I mentioned the other day also started smoking when she got it out the other day. We are cursed...
